So Here’s My Idea…

It’s still rough around the edges, but maybe you all can help me iron it out.

I’d like to do something I’m thinking of calling “The 40 Day Fast.”

The purpose behind it is to give people an opportunity to:
1. Experience a bit of need
2. Learn about the need in the world
3. Do something about it

I’d like to find 39 bloggers who would be willing to fast for one day and blog about their experience. On their specified day, I’d also like them to highlight an area of need in the world (either a cause or a country) and an organization that strives to meet that need.

Here’s where it gets a little confusing...the other 39 days, I’d like each blogger to write a short post with a link to the blogger who is fasting that day. The idea behind this is to introduce a lot of different people to many different causes or nations and reinforce the idea that there is need by putting it in front of our readers on a daily basis for 40 days.

Finally, I’d like each blogger to encourage their readers, whether they have a blog or not, to join us in fasting on the 40th day. And on that 40th day we all write a post about whatever cause/nation is closest to our hearts and then call our readers to some sort of action.

That’s the rough draft.
