Out with the Old, In with the New

This is what I drove yesterday:
I loved this car. It was our first car that we bought in the same decade in which it was made. It had a sunroof and really nice woodgrain accents on the dashboard. We called it “Miles.” My friend Lilia helped me name it. We would have loved to keep it, but it just wasn’t big enough for our soon-to-be family of five.
This is what I drive today:
(Except ours is dark grey instead of gold.)
So, here’s my deep dark confession:
I really like it. I think it’s cool. Why?
1. My kids can actually run around inside. My husband and I can walk around too. Yes, it’s that big.
2. It’s got a great sound system.
3. It has power doors. How cool is that? I can just press any of 8 different buttons (4 inside the car and 2 on my keychain) and the doors open automagically.
4. We don’t need to borrow no stinkin’ pickup. From now on, when we need to haul something, we can do it ourselves.
5. It has dual climate control. My husband can enjoy his antarctic-like temperature while I bask in balmy breezes.
6. It has steering wheel Audio controls. I can easily turn down the music without taking my hands off the wheel when my kids ask one of the 2,387,467 questions that they tend to ask in the car.
7. Every seat has multiple cup holders and air conditioning vents and controls.
I think the inside looks pretty good for a minivan:
So there you have it. My name is Kat. I own a minivan. I like it.
