Will She Make It?

I’m about to embark on a 10 mile run.

I’ll let you know if I survive.

Update:
I actually ended up running 13.5 mile which is a little over a half marathon.

I was feeling pretty good today at mile 10, so I just decided to go for it.

I’m really excited. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and today just ended up being a good day to do it.

I am! I actually ended up running 13.5 miles!

A little over a half marathon. I really thought I could run that far, but I wasn’t sure if I could run the one I’m signed up for. It’s supposed to be the hardest on in Texas - lots and lots of hills. I want to be able to run the whole thing but I just don’t know about those hills. They might force me to walk - or crawl.

I was feeling pretty good toady at mile 10, so I just decided to go for it.

I’m really excited. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and today just ended up being a good day to do it.

My time was 2:15 which isn’t super fast, but I’m quite happy with it for my first go around.

Who knows what will happen in the race in two weeks, so it’s nice to know I’ve already accomplished my main goal.

Not too bad.  I couldn’t do that, but then I also have no desire to run a marathon.  Running, for me, is torture - I’d rather bike.

Had a a couple of friends run the Houston Marathon recently.  They did pretty well, but took a short break at mile 19.  You would’ve too, to get you picture made with Pres. Bush (the elder), who was just standing on the side with the rest of the crowd.

Another friend, from college, ran marathons all the time.  She had interesting stories about the people who went a little crazy while running.  Like the guy who ran the whole thing running backwards (they actually keep track of these guy’s times separately and have their own records).

AnnieD,
Thanks!

Euphrony,
I can’t even begin to imagine running a marathon backwards! I’m sure I’d trip and fall about a million times…

Kat,
I wanted to know what you went through, so this morning I tried to do 13.5 sit ups
...it’s 10:22pm and I’m just now able to use my stomach muscles.

Go, Kat, Go!  smile

I’m so jealous!  I really need to find the time (um, and motivation) to be running again!

I can’t wait to hear how the race goes for you!
