While I Was Away

I did quite a few things while on my blogging hiatus.
I spent a good bit of time praying for my kids and organizing the things I want to be praying for them.
I worked on the upcoming InspiredToAction.com site.
I started training for a half marathon that I’ll be running in January with my friend K. Whether I’ll run it or wun (walk/run) it remains to be seen…
I also spent some time mulling over one of my favorite chapters in the Bible - Psalm 18. I’ll be writing more about that in the days to come.
I’m really excited about this year and what God is going to do in and through us.
What did I miss while I was gone? What’s new with you? What’s new in the blogosphere?

I am trying to get my girls ready for school. We are about to jump back into everything! Im not ready, I must confess I really enjoyed taking a break from it all.
Hey, we are about to get a NEW car! I am so excited about that! We get it on Sunday. Its a 2002 Honda Odyssey minivan. God is GOOD!
I could go on and on, but those are the big things I can highlight.

Hi Kat! I missed you! I must confess that I found myself checking the blog last week only to exclaim, “doh!” when I remembered your temporary absence. Glad you’re back.
I spent the week trying to figure out what the heck to do with all of the STUFF we have acquired over the years. Do I really need all of these back-issues of Consumer Reports? (My husband emphatically exclaims, “Yes!") Okay, so where do we put them all? Garage? Already full. Bookshelves? Already full. Under the bed? Already full. And why are we keeping all this stuff?
The underlying goal of cleaning out is, of course, to make way in the office for the treadmill where I will begin my training for our half marathon. Are we nuts? Desperate? Bored?
Love you.

the6stricklands,
A new car? That’s awesome! Wow that’s a pretty big highlight.
psalm8410,
I’m glad to be back. You’re not the only one who check the blog last week. I actually increase the number of RSS subscribers last week and had MORE people reading my blog on fri-sun than I do when I’m actually writing stuff.
Hmm...maybe my blog would grow faster if I stopped writing.
I hope my labeler helped you in your organizational efforts.
I don’t think we’re bored. I don’t think that’s humanly possible when you have kids. So that leaves desperate and nuts. Hmmm…

jameejb,
The Austin 3M Half Marathon
You should join us! It’s on January 27th.
Art camp? My kids would have loved that. How fun! You must be exhausted, though. 11 preschoolers?! If you can do that, you can definitely do a half marathon!

Funny you should ask. The last 6 months, and this past summer in particular, have been marked by profound personal change for me. By far the most change I’ve experienced in my 40+ years on this planet.
