What’s Wrong With This Ad?

Is it just me, or should this ad have been tossed in the “bad idea bin?” It’s something about the line:
“...But if you are...”
that really gets me.
In the actual online ad, you can even click the snow globe and the truck gets thrown around amidst the snow and trees.

Some ad exec blew it with that one. Why didn’t they also include tiny people being thrown from the car in the wreckage? If you’re going to do a job, do it all the way. Pardon my sarcasm.

This one smacks of a room full of 70 year old ad execs blathering about how “young people today like interactive things.” Morons.

How about, “We hope you’re not dead, and if you aren’t, we hope you have accident forgiveness.”

To me, this just underscores the fact that advertising and good taste infrequently meet. I mean, an industry that openly talks about various diseases and conditions, sandwiched into the “family” TV hour (when you may well be eating, don’t forget) has few quams with any juxtaposed topics.
I’m actually suprised that the globe didn’t shatter.
