What Kind of Christmas Card Are You?

I’m still in the process of getting my Christmas cards ready for the mail. This year is the second year that we’re doing photo Christmas cards and, can I say, I think the person who invented photo Christmas cards deserves a special place in heaven.
You see, I tend to be a procrastinator and I also tend to be creative.
That is a terrible combination because I get these “really great ideas” at the very last minute.
Let’s see, there was the year I created a full length DVD recap of our year for each Christmas card (5 days before Christmas).
Then there was the year I decided to hand write ALL the lyrics to Chris Rice’s song Welcome To Our World to every single card we sent out (Let’s all say, “hand cramp” together...).
So now? I have three kids and the photo card makes everyone happy. Pictures of the kids for friends and family and “stuff, stamp and send” simplicity for me.
What about you? What kind of Christmas cards do you have (regular, photo, Christmas letter, email or full length DVD) and have you sent them out yet?

Mine are all done! We did a photo card. All I did was upload a photo from our computer to our local grocery store online, designed a card, and sent it to our store for printing. An hour later- it was ready! I picked it up with a few groceries. Not too bad!

In years past, I have signed all the cards and mailed them with with a picture I took of the kids under their stockings. This year, I went online, chose a photo we had taken on a vacation in October, designed the card and picked them up an hour later at Walmart. That was last week and I still haven’t mailed them...I’m a procrastinator, too!

Picture card. With letter. Going in the mail today, all 100 of them. Maybe. I hope.

We do a photo postcard. You can upload your own designs onto postcards at vistprint.com and they are like 100 for 24.99! The postage is cheaper, and all of our friends have loved them because they are different from the norm!

I’ll have to ask my wife what “we” send.

We’ve been doing picture cards for a few years now… I think it was last year that I just *had* to write something long for almost everyone - kind-of like personal letters. Never again. I also intended to make a family calendar primarily for my grandparents, but ended up printing one for just about everybody. I just printed them and bound them myself but if I do it again next year, I will probably just have them printed somewhere that is cheap…

Originally, I was so excited about Christmas cards this year since it’s my first year as a married person, but I’ve been so busy grading papers and finals and all that junk and now it’s Dec. 17, and I don’t know what to do (and Hubby couldn’t care less about sending out cards). Then, there’s the problem of who to send them to. At this point I think I’m just going to send them to the people who sent us one. Isn’t that terrible??

Regular old signed cards. They are all out, except for the two that are missing addresses…

We’ve been going with the photo cards (but I love the photo POSTCARD idea - thanks susanna!). They are easy, and it helps folks we don’t see every year watch the kids grow up, so they aren’t shocked when we do see them! Mine go out in batches… I’m about 80% done.

I am a wanna-be christmas letter writer! I think about it every year..esp. since I got married and then so far each year has snuck up on me!

I am a photo card picture of the kids person. It is a whole lot easier!

People start telling me in august they can’t wait to see our christmas cards for the year… um thanks… no pressure.
No templates here, no holiday letters either. just a kick but artistic card and of course… we use photographs… not snapshots.
Next to ornaments… it’s my favorite christmas decoration… i love designing em’ for our family and anyone who will pay me
http://www.mpix.com
offers postcard styles and you can use linen or pearl paper for a really cool holiday pop… great lab to use

Birthday Cards with your company name and logo are a great way to put your name in front of your customers and clients, and a cost-effective way to advertise!
