What Is Your Favorite Icebreaker?
Posted on 01.16.07 in General and there are
I’ve been sending “Getting to Know You” emails to the folks in the Bible Study group my husband and I lead at church. As a result I’ve been sifting through a lot of really interesting icebreaker questions. Here are a few:
1. If you could have a theme song play behind you every time you entered a room, what would it be and why?
2. If you were a super hero, what would your super power be? cape or no cape?
3. If you were a Major League Baseball Player, what would your at-bat song be?
4. How many 5 year olds do you think you could take in a fight?
So, what’s your favorite icebreaker? (And if you feel so inclined, answer one of these or your own.)

I tend to start with a long… cold… unblinking stare. (with an occasional twitch in my left eye.)
Actually, I think yours are pretty stellar.
Come to think of it, when I was introduced to ALLLL of Amber’s highschool out-of-town friends for the first time AT THE SAME TIME right after we were engaged, I thought about going the first full half hour at the dinner table slightly cross-eyed.
I wish I would have. The headache would have been killer.

Right now my favorite ice breaker is 4” and has a brush on the backside for sweeping the ice away....
1. If you could have a theme song play behind you every time you entered a room, what would it be and why?
Rock It - Def Leppard. Enough said.
2. If you were a super hero, what would your super power be? cape or no cape?
Telekenisis. No cape. Didn’t you watch the Incredibles?
3. If you were a Major League Baseball Player, what would your at-bat song be?
Rock It - Def Leppard.
4. How many 5 year olds do you think you could take in a fight?

We did one at a meeting the other day where we were to list 4 statements about ourselves - 3 true and 1 false. Then everyone else at the table had to try to figure out which one was false. It got pretty humorous!

This is cool. Here’s mine:
1. The Impression That I Get--The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Don’t ask me why, but it’s my most-played song on iTunes. I didn’t even know that until I looked the other day.
2. If I can’t be a superhero in jeans and Vans, then count me out.
3. Back in Black, AC/DC. There’s no badder, more intimidating song on the planet.
4. It depends on if I’m between them and the recess door. If that’s the case, all bets are off.
