Tony Dungy Is My Favoritest Football Coach In The Whole Wide World…Ever

Well, I don’t actually have a list of favorite football coaches, but if I did Coach Dungy would be my favoritest (yes, I’m aware that’s not a word).
I was really impressed by the wonderful things I read about him and that the commentators said about him before, during and after the Super Bowl. He seems like a real stand up guy and it’s great to see the nice guy come out on top (not that Lovie Smith isn’t nice too...).
We had a crazy Super Bowl Party at our house. There was laughing, screaming, crying, yelling, jumping and figure skating.
Huh?
We had a little family Super Bowl party and our 2 and 4 year old girls were much more interested in the figure skating that was on the “safe channel” (I’ll write more about “safe channels” later) than they were in the World Championship Football Game.
The laughing, screaming, crying, yelling and jumping are pretty much a part of every evening around our house.
So did you watch the Super Bowl? At home or with friends? Did your team win?
(Please note: If you are a member of my loyal Chicago-sports-team-fan family, I did not actually write this post willingly. Um...let’s see...while sitting at a coffee shop I was accosted by a rabid Colts fan who threatened my iBook with a latte and forced me to write this post. Yeah...that’s what happened.)

Tony Dungy is great. When he was the coach here (Tampa) he gave so much to the community, especially the teenagers in this area. I was totally rooting for the Colts! (it doesn’t hurt that my aunt married into the Dungy family either...)

I watched it at home, with my kids. I was originally going to “root” for the Bears simply because they were the underdogs. Then I read about Tank Johnson, and decided the Colts were better. Can you tell how into sports I am?
The Colts coach did have some pretty amazing things to say during the presentation of the trophy though. I thought that was neat.

We were going to watch with the youth at church, but in light of the NFL threatening to sue churches for showing the Superbowl, our church cancelled the event.
So we watched at home, then went immediately to Dick’s Sporting Goods to buy our championship t-shirts, then went downtown to see what kind of activity was going on. I’m proud of our hometown, much celebrating, but not foolishness. My son had a great time downtown, getting out of the car in his championship shirt with his Colts helmet on, videotaping all the people running around celebrating. Thankfully, the kids were on a 2-hour delay today due to the cold...unfortunately, my work wasn’t!
YAY COLTS!

I was rooting for the Colts, although my many picks to make into the superbowl before them all didn’t. They were my last hope, ha! It was a great game and it was really fun to see them win. I also appreciated all that was said about them.
did you see the story on Hines Ward Katie Couric presented during the pre-show? that also had me in tears, and made me realize maybe there was a reason the Seahawks were robbed last year.

It was the first superbowl that I didn’t get to see in about 10 years. I saw about 45 minutes of it and it was great.

Can I say your description of your husband’s behavior was the sweetest? YOu’ve got a good guy there!

Bekah,
I was trying to figure out who “Be” was...then I read your second comment.
So, like, you’re kind of related the the Super Bowl winning coach? Cool.
Brody,
Yeah, I thought that thing about Tank Johnson was pretty bogus. It made it easier for me to root for the Colts (again, if you are a member of my Chicago sports loving family, I didn’t actually just say that. You must have misread it.)
Cristy,
I don’t think I realized that you’re in Indianapolis. How fun! I’ll bet your son was thrilled!
Amy,
I didn’t see that...I’ll have to go see if anyone YouTubed it. I love sports and, being a girl, I also love drama, so I adore dramatic sports stories. To me, the Olympics (where they always have amazing stories) is better than a Hallmark movie…
Seth,
Who were you rooting for?

Michelle,
I’ll have to write a nice post about my sweet husband...as much as I’ve maligned him for the sake of humor in this blog.
He really is completely amazing…
