This Is Just The Beginning

I have a feeling that this is just the beginning of what my son will be subjected to by his two older sisters.
Yes, that is playdoh on his head. According to my three year old fashion designer, it’s a hat.
To keep his head warm.
Of course.
Do you have any stories about your siblings?
(On a side note, it just occurred to me as I was flipping through a Children’s Place (a kids clothing store) ad that I now get to buy boy clothes. For some reason I’m very excited about this. )
Are there any kids clothing sites/stores you recommend?

Fav place for kids clothes? Hand Me Downs from dear friends and consignment sales. I’m thrifty that way.

My friend Stephanie (we have the same name, obviously) has a 2-year-old girl and a 10-month-old boy. The other day I was on the phone with her, when she had to interrupt to say, “No honey. No more pixie dust on your brother. He is NOT going to fly.”
It is just the beginning for your son.

Yes, my older girls put their little brothers in same type of situations. Wait until he’s in girly dress up clothes, or carry around a purse!
And boy clothes, definitely not as marketable as girls clothes (meaning-you’ll always notice twice the amount of girls clothes than boys!) Old Navy and Target really have some cute boy clothes for reasonable prices. But I’d have to agree with truevyne-you can find the same clothes, gently used at resale and cosignment shops for a fraction of the cost. I frequent our local place Smarty Pants.

Truevyne,
I’ve not really checked out consignment stores before, but I have already hit the HandMeDown jackpot. One of my nephews is about 2 years older than my son so my sis-in-law has sent several boxes of clothes. It’s been SO helpful while my son is in this “I’m a newborn and I must soil at least 15,392 onesies, blankets, bibs and burbclothes each day” phase.
Stephanie,
Oh, that is hilarious! Did you just crack up while she was talking? Isn’t it amazing the things we moms say to our kids while we’re on the phone?
Tressa,
Perhaps I can preempt his humiliation by providing a variety of boy dress up clothes for the girls to outfit him in…
I’ll have to check out Smarty Pants.

oh...he’s so cute....
He’s the best “real live doll” for your daughters!
Boy clothes are harder to come by, but as the previous posts say, Target, Old Navy, Childrens Place, and (Gymboree, Gap, and osh kosh for the more expensive things....) You have to look a little harder, but sometimes consignement places have good boys clothes.

Kristin,
Thanks...I think he’s pretty cute too!
Hopefully, they’ll be more careful with him than with their dolls..

I shop at BabyGap and Old Navy. However, I usually wait for items to go on sale. I love the style and you can buy most clothes for under $10 if you can wait. Also, if I buy something and it gets marked down a week later, I will go into the store and get a price adjustment. (It has to be within 14 days of the date of purchase.) I also have shopped at consignment places, but not much now since the boys are older.
That’s an adorable picture of your little boy!

I didn’t know you can get a price adjustment…
Cool.
