Thinking About The 40 Day Fast

I’ve been thinking about The 40 Day Fast and possibly doing something like that again this year but I’d love to get your input.

1. Is anyone interested in doing this again?

2. What did you like/not like about it?

3. Do you have any ideas or recommendations for this year?

Please don’t worry about hurting my feelings with any ideas, thoughts or criticisms you might have. If we do something like this again, I really just want it to be as effective as possible, so any and all suggestions are welcome.

I wasn’t here last year, but love the idea and the thought of doing it again.  It is, after all, not about us.

I would be up for doing it again. (I was kind of hoping it would become an annual thing) Is there anyway we could run it off of Inspired to Action..only because that would make sense to me.

I’d like to do it again.  I wonder if we could each focus together on our Compassion International experiences or some other particular cause.

I’m in - and I agree with Emily - it’s not about us prayer and fasting is important! If not for Compassion or another organization, we could pray about folks we know who have cancer or MS or myasthenia for example!

Kat, I think we NEED to do this! I just linked back to that picture from last year that started it all, and my heart is in my mouth.  I really liked reading the posts last year, it helped remind me of how blessed I am and how we are called to be a voice for the voiceless.

I definitely think it would be awesome to do the 40 Day Fast again. Talk about intercession!! Let me know when, Im in!

Erik and I were actually reading through your 40 day posts earlier this week for the first time. We were both really moved (him to tears even!) and convicted. I say go for it!

Yes, yes, yes! And sign me up . It was one of the most impacting things I was involved with last year.

Hi Kat, I would be honoured to participate again.  I really appreciated the diversity of causes and prayer requests last time and felt it was a wonderful way of widening the spread of prayer and building community.

truevyne, while Compassion is a wonderful organisation doing great work, God is doing stuff through other organisations, churches and individuals too, so I would be disappointed if it were all about one cause, even though that cause is very deserving.

I wasn’t here last time, so when I started reading about it, I thought you were actually calling people to a 40 Day Fast. I mean, 40 days in a row for each person. I was thinking..."one day I want to do that”. But I for sure would be in on doing one of the days in the 40.

Looking back, I now remember Carlos doing this last summer.
