Small, Smaller, Smallest? Yeah…Whatever!

The Small Person (my 4 year old) was 7 pounds 9 ounces, had a 27 hour labor and was born on her due date.

The Smaller Person (my 2 year old) was 8 pounds 10 ounces, had an 8 hour labor and was a week early.

At this rate, The Smallest Person is going to be 9 pounds 11 ounces, have a 45 minute labor (we live 20 min. from the hospital!) and be a month early.

I’m nervous…

(Maybe my sweet husband was right?)

Are your parents saying that this is revenge for a rotten childhood or something?

No. I was a perfectly angelic child. I don’t understand it. My brother and I weighed 5 and 4 pounds (respectively) when we were born. Clearly, the caucasian genes of both my dad and husband outweighed the petite Asian birthweights on my mom’s side.

My youngest son was 23 inches, 10 pounds when he was born.  He’s now 10, and 5’6” and 140 pounds.  That’s a big boy.

My oldest was 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was born with 3 pushes after 12 hours of labor a week early.

The next was 9 pounds, 9 ounces and was born with 2 pushes after 4 hours of labor a week late.

Because I don’t want 11 pounds, 11 ounces born in a Honda a month late, we’ll stick with just the 2. smile

Rick,
10 pounds? Your wife is my hero!

Beth,
Hmm...that may have been a good call. On the discovery channel I saw a documentary about gigantism and one woman gave birth to a 23 pound baby.....and this was in the 1800’s...Ouch.
