My Test Results Came Back Today

I just got a call from my doctor’s office.

My test results came back normal.

You’d think that if they can, you know, send people to the moon, grow babies in petri dishes, and build skyscrapers that they could determine if I have cancer or not in less than THREE weeks.

Geesh. I mean, what are they doing that whole time? Do they sit and stare at it for two weeks and then send it back to my doctor via the Pony Express?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m thrilled with the result, it just seems like it could be done faster. Since it’s like life and death and all…

Seriously, though, thanks for the prayers and kind words. It’s actually been a great three weeks. I feel like I’ve learned a lot and have had some wonderful perspective and expectation changes (which I’ll blog about later).

Kat - i didn’t know about this...wow!! very sorry you had to wait so long, and very happy to hear your tests came back “negative”.

My sister-in-law has been battling breast cancer this past year, and while she is doing well, it’s been painful to watch and experience.

Praise to Jehovah Rapha—the Lord our Healer!!!

Wow… three weeks?  That’s crazy.  For some reason I just got like 14 of your posts in my reader… I was just wondering if you were ever going to post again!  Some tubes must have gotten tangled-up or something in the Internetz.  Glad to hear you’re okay.

Glad to hear you’re fine.  I can’t count how many times my Mom has been waiting on Doctor test results that they have but the office didn’t call.  The Oncologist office told her that the Doc has to see the results before giving the clearance to call and he only checks test results once a week.  And several times the doctor had more tests than he had time, so those had to wait an additional week.  Can you imagine?!  It’s the most important thing in a person’s life and they have to wait additional weeks because they have not allocated enough time to look at the test results!

Dear Kat,
My mother must wait till March 10 to have major brain surgery.  I’m thinking socialized medicine can’t hold a candle to our wait times!

So glad to hear you are “normal"--at least, in regard to your health!  wink

So cool, I’m glad to hear that!

I know about the waiting for a test can be.  When I was pregnant they thought something was wrong with my baby’s heart, that it beat too slowly, and I had to wait 2 weeks to know if it was going to be okay, or need surgery upon birth etc… That was a long two weeks.... (everything was completely fine.)
