It’s Music Monday!
Today’s theme is: If I Had A Record Label, I Would...
You can answer one or all of these questions (or make up your own):
1. Who would be on your roster?
2. How would you run it differently?
3. What would your company name be?
How Do I Participate?
Write a post on your blog telling us about “What You Would Do If You Had Your Own Record Label” (and why) and post the link (to that specific post - not your general blog URL) below.
If you don’t have a blog, share your answers in the comments.
This should be a pretty fun Music Monday. Be sure to jump in on the action. I look forward to reading everyone’s answers!
(FYI - Sara D. won last week’s iTunes GC. Thanks to everyone who participated!)

Kevin’s K2K record label artists:
Shaun Groves, Vice President & lead recording artist and blogger extraordinaire
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/extraordinaire
Sara Groves, contract would require duets with Shaun (no relation) singing “Here I Am” and “I Saw What I Saw” together.
Jars of Clay, contract would require a collaboration with Shaun, Sara and Dan singing “Show You Love” together.
downhere, contract would require collaboration with Marc and Shaun singing “If I Had A Million Dollars” together-nod to Canadien fans and Shaun’s also huge in Canada.
Derek Webb, contract would require collaboration with Caedmon’s Call with Derek, Cliff, Danielle, Cliff and Shaun singing “I Will Sing & Hope To Carry On” together on Rich Mullins tribute album. We might let Smitty play piano and provide Children’s choir & back-up vocals.
Neil Diamond, contract would require duet with Shaun & Neil singing “Sweet Caroline” together.
K2K records would naturally involve collaborations and creative direction would be artist driven. All artists would blog and be accessible to their fans.

If I had a record label I would totally be about the Indie artists and try to design a label that wasn’t super restrictive. It’s all about getting great music out to people who want to hear it.
I have no idea what I’d name it. It would have to be a crazy-cool indie name that the twenty-somethings would dig like FlipFive or something like that.
Artists? Bryan Karas, She & Him, Brooke Waggoner, The Bird & The Bee, Iron & Wine, Sufjan Stevens, William Fitzsimmions, Brandi Carlile, Gina Villalobos…

Oops, didn’t see the part about writing it on your own blog. Oh well.
