Madlibbing the Bible

image My sweet husband gives me plenty of fodder for this blog.

Today was no exception.

As he was headed off to bed he turned around and asked, “Would it be sacrilegious to take a portion of the Bible and make a Mad Lib?”

Thoughts?

My Sunday school class did it.  We were studying Judges last year, and if you’ve ever read Judges, you know that the stories are really, really formulaic.  So whoever was teaching one day did a Mad Lib that involved filling in the blanks on things like “a really hard-to-pronounce name.” It may have been sacrilegous, but I remember the pattern better than I otherwise would have.

It’s so absolutely beyond okay.  In fact, it must be done.
