It’s In My Story!!!

My kids watch a show called Super Why. It’s a cartoon. It’s about super heroes. The characters have disproportionately large heads.
You know, standard kids show.
Well, these super heroes solve problems with their reading skills. If a book ends badly, and the main character says, “I can’t help (fill in the bad decision) it’s in my story...’the little boy (fill in the bad decision)!” - the Super Readers jump in and change the words to the story and save the day.
It’s SUPPOSED to teach kids reading skills.
So the other day my 2 year old son was picking on his sisters. I said,"Son, you cannot bother your sisters.” His reply?
“I can’t help it Mommy! It’s IN my stooory! ...da wittle boy bahders his sistews.”
Oh yes he did.
I have a feeling I’m going to have an interesting time when he hits high school.

How funny.
Superwhy is my favorite show for my kids to watch. Not only did it teach my oldest his alphabet when he was like, 18 months old, but I LOVE the idea that words can change a story.

That’s hilarious! We love SuperWhy around our house, but we’ve never had this side effect from watching it.

I think that he has to come live here for a while and I will teach him how to behave. Actually, I think all of your children should come spend some time here.... they are all very very very bad and must be punished at Aunt Diana’s house.

Diana
I’m sure your punishment would involve lots of ice cream, popsicles, candy, movies and wii playing.
Sorry. Can’t put my kids through that.
Stephanie - me too. I have to change his story...often.
Kaye - My girls never did it, but my boy is a different creature all together.

If his sister are like my sisters, you have nothing to worry about. I was FORCED to learn how to properly treat girls. or else. I actually didn’t know what “or else” meant until they showed me.
It involved getting stuffed into a dirty clothes hamper a couple times, and other things I mention here.
On the positive side, by the time I got into high school, I was a complete gentlemen that most of the girls wanted to go out with.
Nice recovery, huh?
