The 40 Day Fast starts tomorrow!
I’m really so excited about this. I look forward to reading everyone’s posts and hearing about their experiences. I really hope that this will be a catalyst for long term change in each of our lives.
Get Involved
I hope that everyone reading this right now will participate in some way. Here are a few ways you can still get involved:
- Follow along each day and read about each of the causes.
- Place one of the logos on the sidebar of your blog.
- Post a link each day to the blogger who is fasting.
- Join us in fasting on the 40th day (July 31st).
- Get involved in one of the organizations mentioned each day.
- Start your own 40 day fast from your blog.
Pray
Another way you can get involved is to pray:
- Pray that our hearts would break for the need in the world and the need next door.
- Pray that we’d live as though we know that we’re given strength to help the weak, we’re given plenty to help the poor and we’re given hope to help the hopeless.
- Pray that we’d look for need in our daily lives.
- Pray that we’d recognize excess in our daily lives.
- Pray that we wouldn’t despise small beginnings.
- Pray that we’d take a step, however small it need be, to break the inertia of our complacency.
- Pray that people would truly be helped as a result of the next 40 days.
- Pray that the world would seem a whole lot smaller to us after July 31st.

Kat, Minor suggestion but why dont you change the logo that everyone is linking to to drop the “join now” and “starts 6.22.07” as the day is arriving.

By the way, the calendar I put in my blog post yesterday I have also miniaturized to fit in the sidebar. I don’t think that will show in an RSS feed, so I thought I would let you know.

Can I confess that I am administratively challenged? I just looked through my comments and indeed you DID sign up. Do you mind sharing the 26th with my mom? I’m sure she won’t mind. 
There have also been several people who would still like to be involved so if anyone has any ideas…

I think that looks good. It’ll keep people from getting confused, I think. But maybe I was just being a little obsessive-compulsive about accuracy.

I guess if there are still several people who wanted to be involved you could potentially extend the fast or have more sharing dates. It might be less effective though if too many people fast on the same day. (hard to keep up with)
I liked your idea of other people starting fasts from their own blogs.
