If You Could Be Anything You’re Not…

What would you be?

My Answer

A musician. I adore music. My son is going to wake up in about 6 hours and I’m sitting here listening to all kinds of great music when I really should be sleeping. I spend most of my days listening to Chug-A-Chug-A Choo Choo songs, so it’s only in the wee hours of the night that I can listen to music I really enjoy.

So, yes, if I could be anything I’m not - I would be a musician.

Your Answer?

So, what about you? What would you be and why?

I would be a comedian. I love making people laugh. If I could only make a living doing it. Problem is, only my wife thinks I’m funny. Hmmm...maybe I should re-think this thing…

Oh, a painter. I always, desperately wish I could draw and paint. Both my grandma and one of my cousins are AMAZINGLY talented in that way and I’m insanely jealous.

A tap dancer. I’ve wanted to tap dance ever since I saw Gene Kelly in “Singin In The Rain”. Every once in awhile, I think about getting some lessons. Maybe one day…

I am with you on the musician thing Kat.  I have the musical prowess of a yak.  Just ain’t there.

I fantasize about playing the piano like Jerry Lee Lewis.  I would love to play fast and bang on the ivories.  I would not however marry my 15 year old cousin, if I knew how to play.  I would love to play jazz or blues too.

It is such a cool way to express yourself.  I just yell (happy, aTm-like yelling) and throw things (in my garage where no one can see me, angry-type throwing) to express myself.  I would love to be able to express my love and affection for my Kat with music.

this is a fun question, I like reading everyones answers.

I wish I could sing really well and powerful, and just belt out songs.

Just to clarify, Deemus’ wife’s name is Kat as well.

And Deemus, I agree, I’d love to be able to express myself via music. For that reason I’d also, like Paul, to learn to dance. I love music and sports, so I think I would enjoy dancing if I had any clue how to do it.

Is it awful to say I wouldn’t want to be anything else than what I am, which is/will be a professor?  I absolutely love my job and can’t imagine being anything else.

Okay, fine.  I wish I was a mom.  But thankfully those two things aren’t mutually exclusive.

My biggest dream was ALWAYS to be a mom, and I am!  As for an income-generating “anything,” I’d really love to own a zoo and teach kids about animals.  I’ve had the opportunity to do this in various ways with my current job, but I wish I could do JUST THAT exclusively!

I really think that showing kids the intricacies of nature and the instincts of wildlife is one of the most effective ways to show them the awesomeness of our Creator.

I would be a novelist.  Or a singer.  Or a marine biologist.  I have varied interests. smile

I’ve given up on Google Reader updating your feed.  Forgive me if I sometimes comment on posts later than other people!

I’m gonna have to go with Deemus & Kat on this one - I would give anything to be a musician & a singer. I would love to be able to play the guitar & the piano, write awesome lyrics, and then lead praise & worship! I just think that’s such an amazing gift the Lord has chosen NOT to bless me with! smile
Oh, yeah, and I’ve always wanted to be a Neurosurgeon, but then I had kids and married a military man so now I have taken on a new dream of becoming a RN...but to work on the brain....

My one professional “regret” is that I didn’t go into worship leading at some point.  I believe I have the musical chops for it.  Circumstances now prevent me from doing that professionally now, but it’s still fun to think about sometimes.
