I Had To Emerge From My Writing Cave For This…

I Twitter.

If you doubt the coolness that is Twitter, check out this email I just got:

cindy-morgan-twitter.png

Yes, THAT Cindy Morgan.

The one whose songs my roommates and I sang at the top of our lungs on road trips. (Hi, Lilia!)

The one whose Easter album I listen to every year.

The insanely incredible songwriter.

That’s the one.

Cindy (or Cind’ for short - I can call her that now, she’s my bff.) follows 50 people on Twitter and I’m one of them. (of course she just started twittering and will soon have 1431234 Twitter friends, but I’ll still be special. I just know.)

And they say being a stay at home mom is boring.

Obviously, “they” don’t Twitter.

(Oh, and if you register at Cindy’s website, you can get a free song every month. A free song. From Cindy Morgan. Go now.)

I just visited the website and would like to say that I have a copy of Broken Angel in my TBR pile.  I’m feeling inspired to read it next! smile

Amy,
Book...booklet....really long post it note....yeah.... It’s coming along well.

Seriously, it’s not very long, but it covers everything I wanted to say on this particular subject. It’s more of an ebook for my music blog as it’s about musicians and their websites....but I do have a few other topics planned to write about after I finish this one.

Being a web designer, I got lots of email from musicians asking for advice about improving their sites. I’ve been wanting to write something like this for a couple years, but just never got around to it.

I’ve finish most of the text, now I’m just editing and then I’ll format it.

Then I’ll work on my next one...fun!

Thanks for asking Amy.

By the way, dare I ask how high your TBR pile is?

Kat, I don’t get this twittering thing.  how is it different than subscribing to your blog?  Or what is it’s purpose exactly?  I’m just not that technical, as you know.

I do remember singing those songs at the top of our lungs, though!!

I’m so proud that you wrote a book!!!  I hope you let us (me?) read it sometime.

LOYA!

Very cool, Kat!  That makes a lot of sense. Will you make it available for free or are you going to charge? smile

My TBR pile is more like a small room, and no I’m not exaggerating.  Especially since I found out that I could Blog for Books.  I really need to exercise the no muscle, but every book sounds so wonderful…

I was wondering if something like that would work for music actually, just yesterday.  I mean I know Matt Maher gave out some cds to bloggers.  Do you think it would be possible to organize a group of bloggers interested in Christian music or indie music or something and once a month have them all blog at the same on the music?  The idea is obviously to create buzz about the music.  I’m just not sure what the measurable goal would be...with the book groups it’s to get the book to the top of the technorati popular books chart as measured by new links to Amazon.  Obviously its not possible to measure sales, but music sales might be more measurable.  Ok, I’ll stop now. smile

Amy,
Oh, the ebook will be free.

That’s a great idea re: music and blogging. I have a couple ideas brewing. I definitely plan to write more about music…

Lilia,
It’s a very short book.

Twitter is a website/system where you can blog. But you can only write posts that are 140 characters long. So it forces you to be concise.

People also tend to Twitter more day to day stuff. And it’s also got an IM like quality to it. Try it. It’s super easy.

AnnieD,
Oh, you’re going to be buddy buddy with all kinds of interesting people after living in Nashvegas for awhile…

And when you’re a famous author, I can say I knew you back in the day…
