How Do You Say Sucker in Baby Talk?

Cause I’m pretty sure that’s what The Small Person said to me a few minutes ago.
I just went in for the third time (maybe fourth, I’ve lost count) tonight, certain that some tragedy had befallen my sweet and innocent son.
But as soon as I picked him up, he stopped crying, smiled and started babbling something about how that kid in the church nursery said it works every time.
I just got punk’d by an 11 month old.
It’s 1:52am and I am so going to bed.

I laugh out loud! HA! I can do so, because Liler’E plays us like Joshua Bell plays the violin. There are many a night when he wakes up at 3:00 am and somehow convinces us in our stupor that he needs to play on the floor for an hour while we watch helplessly and sleeplessly.

That is so lame. We’ve got blood curdling stories of being punk’d by our 11 month old. 1:52am is about the time we give him the horse tranquilizer.

Sarah,
Isn’t it just awful? I can’t stand listening to my kids cry. I’m sorry you’re going through it too…
Heather,
I knew this was coming, but I didn’t expect it so soon. My girls didn’t do this until closer to a year and a half…
I’m so not falling for it again.
Amy,
Making my misery funny makes my misery less miserable. Thanks for thinking it’s funny.
Euphrony,
Liler’E and The Smallest Person must be working with the same consultant.
Travis,
Ha!

It is stories like this that make me so glad that my wife and I coslept with our babies. While life could be tough when they were sick, I can’t recall a single instance of being woken up in the middle of the night by a screaming baby who wasn’t sick.
