Help Me Troubleshoot

I’m wrapping up a web design project for a client and there is another issue I’ve been unable to replicate.

My client is seeing a “Submit Article” link at the bottom of this page: http://rltownsend.com/History.

It will be a blue underlined link at the bottom of the page. If it’s there you can’t miss it.

I don’t see it on any of the computers in our house.

I’d really appreciate it if you could take a look and let me know if you see it.

I think I know what the issue is, but I need your help to make sure I’ve figured it out.

Thanks!!!!

I don’t see the link. (IE 6.0.28, SP1)
Try using browsershots.org as recommended by Rick (its the site I could think of).  It may help.

Euphrony,
You’re too smart. I use browsershots.org all the time to make sure my sites look right while I’m designing them, but it didn’t cross my mind to use it to check for this issue.

Great idea. I can quickly check multiple systems and I can show screenshots easily to my client.

No wonder I can’t pronounce your profession or field or whatever you call it.

It’s strange that they would see that, because the words “Submit Article” aren’t even found in the source code.  Do you have any includes in there that wouldn’t show up client-side?

I was also going to suggest to be sure and validate your code, but I see you’ve already done that.  Kudos to you.  :o)

Beyond that, I don’t know what to suggest.  Hopefully you’ve figured it out by now.

BTW, what design software do you use?  Nice job on the design, I’m sure your client appreciates your talent.

Rick,
Well, I’m pretty sure it’s a user error issue, but I didn’t want to say that unless I was as certain as can be. Thanks for checking and helping me cover my bases!

I use Macromedia Fireworks for graphics (although my designer gets all the credit for this particular project) and skEdit (a Mac text editor) for code work.

Expression Engine is my favorite Content Management System, but I’ve also used Subdreamer, Wordpress and about a million other systems before I found Expression Engine.

For a school counselor by profession, you’re quite the web geek aren’t you? I’m impressed!

Thanks Kat.  At almost 40, I’ve had some pretty diverse careers so far in my life.  I’m getting ready to do another one in the next few years, as I’m working on my school administration credentials now.  I’ve never done web design as a career, although I’ve done a couple of paid projects.  Mostly summer time and vacation work, though.  It’s mostly fun to do projects for my friends and help out some churches once in a while.

I don’t see it.

That’s it.

Nothing extra geeky to add.  I’m at my limit.
