Happy Anniversary Jimmy!

Today my husband and I celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary.

Let me tell you a bit about him…

If I had to describe my husband in one word it would be the word “solid.”

He’s a Leader

This may sound horribly old fashioned, but I love the fact that I have a husband I can follow. He’s strong and wise, responsible, consistent and faithful. I often find him reading his Bible or on his knees beside our bed praying for me and the girls.

He’s Patient

He even let’s me blog about him:

He’s Athletic

I love that we can go in the front yard and throw the football, kick the soccerball or play tennis together. I like that I can be as competitive as I want to with him. Although, losing 99.9% of the time does tend to get old occasionally.

He’s Fun

I also love the fact that he’ll go along with my hair-brained ideas. Like the Sunday we were sitting in church and I leaned over and said, “We should go on vacation....today.” We had a two year old and a 9 month old and no plans for a vacation, but we went home - packed and hit the road - unsure of our destination.

He’s Silly

He’s always walking around the house making up songs about me, one of the girls or even the bowl of cereal he’s eating at the time.

Conclusion

He’s the sort of husband, father, friend who doesn’t ask for respect, but you can’t help but give it to him.

He’s the sort of man that I hope my girls someday marry and my son grows up to be.

The past 9 years have been the best of my life and I look forward to many, many more.

That’s so nice.  But I am not sure I believe everything you say here.

In particular, I question the whole thing about me winning competitions against you 99.99% of the time.  Let’s check the record books and see if we shouldn’t add some more nines behind that decimal.

Although, we would have to leave out scrabble.  You tear me up there.  And that whole ‘see how many times you can bounce a soccer ball on your knee without dropping it’ game.  Let’s exclude that one too.  You just bounce that thing on and on and on and give me no chance to taste victory. 

Of course, there are many more things that you win at, but the list seems to escape me at the moment.

Oh, here’s a funny thing.  I woke up this morning and Kat said, “I wanted to write something nice about you on my blog for our anniversary....it took me FOREVER.”

Sorry you had to rack your brain, dear.  I will try to do better this year. : ) You are the best.
