i’m wearing prepregnancy pants!  although they look a tiny bit obscene ("painted on” seems like an appropriate description) and i may wait a few weeks still to wear them in public, i can still button them.  THAT made me smile.

though your little boy is awfully sweet, too.  how many weeks is he?

Wow, Stephanie. That is something to smile about!

My son is 5 weeks old. I’m not there yet. I seriously look forward to wearing prepregnancy, non-stretchy, button pants. Hopefully, after I get the doctor’s ok to exercise again, I’ll get there soon. I can’t wait.

Was it your birthday yesterday, or was that another Stephanie?

wow he IS really cute!  I have to admit, I tried not to smile.  When I saw the posting title in my rss feed yahoo, being the non-conformist I am (I’ve been known to only eat a single Chips Ahoy cooke or Lays potato chip just on principle - I’m that good!) , I immediately said I am not going to smile at whatever it was.  But then I saw him and couldn’t stop myself!

Here’s another thing that made me smile today:

Dave,
How in the world did you happen upon that picture? Is that for real? It reminds me of those nesting doll toys.

I completely identify with your non-conformist ways, although I don’t know if I could go so far as to allow myself only one chip or one cookie. Impressive.

I saw it on Digg I believe.  I assume it’s real, or one of the best photoshop jobs I’ve seen!  My oldest boys just love that pic- I showed them when they got home and they especially liked the image name (and I assume their family name)- the Stackersons!

re: non-conforming and chips/cookies- it’s a tough sacrifice, but I do it all for the cause of obscure private non-violent demonstration wink

One of my best friends is also named Stephanie.  It was her birthday yesterday.

I had an emergency c-section too - not fun at all.  How are you recovering?  Asher’s 4 1/2 months old, so it’s taken me a while to even pull out the prepregnancy clothes.  I couldn’t even fit into maternity jeans to come home from the hospital - I was that swollen.  It was really depressing.

Stephanie,
I’m recovering pretty well, although I was pretty bummed about the size of my tummy when i got home from the hospital as well.

It’s been frustrating to not be able to do much of anything, but I’ll have my follow-up appt. here in the next week or so and I hope to get the all clear so that I can lift my kids, run around and generally not have to be so careful.

I’m still wearing stretchy preggo pants, but at least I’m starting to transition to stretchy non-preggo pants. I’ll rejoice when I can wear pants that button.

I walked into my baby girl’s room this afternoon to wake her from her nap and she was sleeping with her bottom up in the air.  Way too cute!!!  She also does this very cute wrinkley-nose-thing that, according to my husband, she got from me.  Sigh…

I just got done spending two days at outdoor school with a bunch of noisy fifth graders.  Right now, my own bed is making me smile.

Oh, and yeah...your little boy is adorable!

Oh, and I’m 40 today.  Not sure if I should smile about that one or not.

Kim,
I love it when babies/toddlers sleep like that. It’s so cute.

I can picture the nose wrinkling thing…

C-Hammer,
Thanks! Glad he made you smile.

Rick,
What’s outdoor school? I can imagine that must have been exhausting.

40? Congratulations! (A bit late, but better late than never.) I hope your birthday did make you smile!

Outdoor school is when we take our 5th graders up in the mountains for a few days so they can learn about wildlife, conservation, and just how to enjoy the outdoors in general.  We stay overnight in a big lodge, have a big campfire, make s’mores, etc...It’s a blast.  For a lot of our kids, that’s the closest they’ll get to actually going camping.
