Fast Feedback

I’ve set up a page specifically for everyone to share the ways that we’ve been impacted through The 40 Day Fast. The bloggers so far have written some amazing and eye opening posts that have literally changed lives. It’s my hope that this page will be a place of encouragement for us to see that even in our little corner of the blogosphere, we can make a difference.
Check out the Fast Feedback page here.
You can read the latest feedback in the sidebar under the 40 Day Fast graphic.

One thing that I’ve learned from reading everyone’s posts is that I take so much for granted.

I’ve learned that too, Kat, and also that there are needs everywhere you look. It’s causing me to want to live with more of a purpose to help, and also to appriciate those that are in my life. I’ve done a lot less daily complaining with starting my day by reading these posts. It’s a good thing that has put things in perspective, and is continuing to change me the more I read, and the more my eyes are opened.

Something I am learning is that there are simple, small thing I can do to either make a difference or at least keep things like this into the forefront of my mind - like the suggestions Kat has been making daily, and Ryan’s challenge about not drinking any beverage but water for two weeks. If we can keep encouraging each other after this fast is over, and communicate small things that make a big difference, I hope that my life is transformed a little more. I have told Kat this already, but I would love to see us continue this community and this initiative after July 31!

I have learned that no matter our problems, there is always someone who has nothing and no food to eat, no medical. We take so much for granted - even a bed to sleep in with no fear of being attacked. There is no much “need” in this world and one person truly CAN make a difference!
Love and Prayers to all!

I have been constantly reminded that apathy and indifference are the problem, often stemming from our efforts to ignore what is plain to our eyes and discomforting to our hearts. We often know the problems, but we neglect them anyway.

I love you and what is so funny is that John I have been talking about the needs of the people here in KY lately and not doing anythings. I am going to get him to read all of these blogs.

One thing that I want to highlight is that ANYONE can do ANYTHING, and EVERY bit HELPS!
A simple donation, or a gesture to the poor, or adopting a child online, or serving at the food pantry, or baking muffins for your neighbor, befriending an elderly person, or serving overseas. We can all so something to make a difference!!!!

"Make us worthy, Lord, to serve those throughout the world who live and die in poverty and hunger. Give them, through our hands this day their daily bread; and by our understanding love, give peace and joy. Amen.” -Mother Teresa of Calcutta

another quote.
“Any religion that professes to be concerned about the souls of men and is not concerned about the slums that damn them, the economic conditions that strangle them and the social conditions that cripple them is a spiritually moribund(at the point of death) religion awaiting burial.” Martin Luther King Jr.
