Drugs Aren’t Nice To Me

I had great plans for this evening.
Emptying my inbox, writing a brilliant post, rescuing small kittens from trees and generally saving mankind.
Unfotunately, I needed to take a Benedryl and have been rendered completely and utterly useless.
Like my mother, I am rather “petite.” As a result, most medication doses are way more than I need. But when it’s a little pill there isn’t not much I can do about it.
Except to put on my jammies, kiss Jimmy goodnight and wobble to my bed.
It’s taken forever for me to write this little post. I’m sure glad I don’t slur when I type…

Maybe you could try taking the liquid form or quick dissolve strips, so you only have to take half as much. Benadryl does the same thing to me and I started buying the strips and tearing them in half.

I’m the same way (not the petite part!LOL). Medicine normally puts me to sleep. My allergy pills do that to me too! And Benadryl is a real kicker!

When I take NyQuil, about 30 minutes after I take it, my vision gets slurred if that makes sense. It’s like I turn my head to the left, but what I see is about a second behind in turning.

I always take the children’s version of stuff like Benadryl. The last time I took an adult dose, I slept for 2 days straight & G thought I would never wake up!

I have a strong reaction to medication as well. I opted out of narcotics this time around with surgery, because the side effects are worse than the pain. Happy sleeping.

You and my Mom could be drug twins. She normally has to take pediatric doses of meds (you might try that, it really works for her) or she goes loopy. I, on the other hand, am smaller than her and can handle manly size doses because I metabolize meds very quickly.

I can relate to your situation, Kat. I have a love hate relationship with drugs. I don’t like to live with them and I struggle to live without them. I had Benedryl for the first time back in January after an allergic reaction toward the hospital sheets. I could not believe how tired I got
