Deep Thoughts While Running: Testimony

- When someone asks me for my testimony, I don’t want it to be about something that happened 20 years ago. I want it to be about something that happened yesterday.

- My life, right now, is in need of as much radical change as a drug addict, a convict or a prostitute. It’s not as if I’m practically like Jesus...right? So I need to believe for more - that I can be freed from greed, selfishness and everything else that keeps me from loving Him and loving others.

- Am I daily making space in my life for God to move - willing to look foolish to make Him famous?

when is your race?

I have been in a ditch lately. I work at a church but I have not felt the Lord in several weeks. It is me, not Him and I know that. I always know that. I just need to dig a little. Focus more. Be quiet. And alone.

Thank you for some moving words.

This is so true.  A testimony should be about the Lord’s ongoing faithfulness and impact in your life, not just a story about something that happened once a long time ago.  Thanks for prompting me to think about this today.

While I agree that our testimony should include the now, for some of us, the most powerful moments with God have been in the past.  But I get your point!

Proud of you for running!  Go Bearathon!  Side note:  I was talking with our worship leader from church and he mentioned that he did this race a few years ago.  Said he was glad he did it but that it was probably the stupidest thing he’s ever done and will never do it again.  But, you know, whatever.  grin
