So it’s apparently “National Blog De-Lurking Week.”
What does that mean? That means that this is the week for you to pop out of the shadows and say hi.
So click on the comments button and introduce yourself!
If you’re really shy, here are some things you can say in your comment:
1. Just say hi. A simple hello is great. Be sure to link back to your blog if you have one.
2. Where are you from?
3. What do you do for a living?
4. What is your favorite song of 2006?
5. Who’s your favorite musician/band?
6. Why do you read this blog?
7. What other blogs do you read?
Pick one or pick them all....we look forward to meeting you!
(Cach, be nice to everyone. Shaun, no spell checking the comments. Everyone else, be sure to welcome the unlurkers!)

I’ve commented before, but you probably really don’t know anything about me since I don’t have a blog. It really doesn’t seem fair, does it? (I should have a blog because there are some funny things that go on in our household, but they don’t seem as funny when I write them out.) So, for now:
1. Hello, my name is Cristy.
2. I’m from Indianapolis, IN.
3. I’m an accountant for a company that owns and operates medical office buildings.
4. I don’t really have a favorite song of 2006, I just like music.
5. Shaun Groves is my favorite musician.
6. I read your blog because you entertain me.
7. Blogs I read daily other than this one: Shaun, Brody, Cach & Brant.
I’m also married to a wonderful guy and have three children, a 16-yo boy, a 15-yo boy and a 12-yo girl.

Cristy,
Wow! I didn’t realize your kids are so close in age. Life was pretty crazy for you about 12 years ago....especially with 2 boys a year apart!
I’m honored to be in the same company as Shaun, Brody, Cach and Brant. Brant’s post the other day about the University of Florida completely cracked me up. I think I read it about 12 times. He completely captured the way an 8 year old writes..."They play pretend alligators! It’s really neat!”

1. Just say hi. A simple hello is great. Be sure to link back to your blog if you have one. Hi. Hello. depression introspection
2. Where are you from? Well, I’m originally from New York, but I live in Philly so I guess I’m from NY.
3. What do you do for a living? I’m a medical editorial assistant. It’s not nearly as fun as it sounds.
4. What is your favorite song of 2006? “Mockingbird" by Derek Webb - oh wait! it ties with “Rewrite this Tragedy” by Sara Groves. I think “Mockingbird” wins this round, though.
5. Who’s your favorite musician/band? Too many to list. I’m currently on a Neil Diamond, Linda Ronstadt, Sara Groves, and Derek Webb kick. We won’t list the other guilty pleasures I listen to (*cough*Paris Hilton*cough*).
6. Why do you read this blog? Uh, someone linked here (don’t remember who). It’s my first time here and I read some of your previous posts and really liked them. It seems like you’re a really cool “Kat.” Haha, bet you’ve gotten that one before!
7. What other blogs do you read? Too many to list. Mostly mental health blogs. If you’re simply dying to know, you can read my Blogroll sidebar.
Does that answer all of your questions?

I was reading your response to my declaration, and thought I would make a clarification. The 15-year-old is mine and the other two are hubby’s. The boys live with us and the girl comes one night a week and every other weekend...and whenever else she wants, too. So my life was pretty peaceful 12 years ago.
Hubby’s? Not so much.

1. Hi. Hello.
2. I grew up in St. Louis but have lived in Texas long enough now to say that I’m from here.
3. I am now a stay-at-home mommy, which can I just say, is much more work than my previous profession of a teacher and education administrator!
4. Oh, too many favorite songs to name. One of my favorites right now is the acoustic version of “How Can I Keep From Singing” by Chris Tomlin.
5. Same answer. One of my current favorite musicians is Jimmy Needham.
6. I read this blog cuz you are plain funny! And because it helps me remember that I am part of a much bigger world than I usually see on a day to day basis.
7. I am fairly new to the blogging community, so this is the only one I read other than the one I maintain for my new baby.
Love ya, Kat!

Hi! I’ve commented before, but I’m a rule follower, and if today is “national de-lurking day”, then I will officially de-lurk.
1. Hi. I have no blog. I am just a lurker.
2. I come from Texas, call Boston home and live in Germany.
3. I am a missionary.
4. My favorite song of 2006 was “The Bay Day Song” by Daniel Powter. I listen to it when I’ve had a bay day and it makes me feel better.
5. I can’t name my favorite group because I like too many genres of music and my favorites are always changing.
6. I read this blog because Kat was my college roommate and very good friend (still). I originally started reading her blog to keep up with her ADORABLE “small people”, but now I also read because I think she writes beautifully and I agree with Curtis that she has “a nice blend of… topics that interest me.”
7. I read other blogs of friends who have blogs… mostly just to see pictures of their cutie kids.
So, that’s me! I really enjoy the blog, Kat, and I’ll keep lurking, if that’s okay with you!

Thanks everyone for participating in De-Lurking day. You can confidently say that you make up the bravest 10% of people who read this blog daily.
It was fun to read about who you are, what you do and your favorite music and blogs. I’ll have to post more getting to know you questions…
I thought I should at least answer my own questions, so here goes:
What is your favorite song of 2006?
Right now I’d have to say “Oh My God” by Jars of Clay. It’s such a powerful and creative song.
Who’s your favorite musician/band?
Wow, I didn’t realize how hard this question was when I wrote it.....um....I guess, Bethany Dillon.
Why do you read this blog?
Because I’m one of those dorky people who makes themselves laugh. I laugh at my own jokes as I’m telling them and, honestly, I laugh at my own blog entries after I write them....so, yes, I do actually read my own blog.
What other blogs do you read?
Besides the ones on the blogroll, I read Techcrunch (web 2.0 blog), Hawkwings (mail.app blog), Lifehacker, 43folders and about 40 other blogs via my rss reader (Vienna).

What is your favorite song of 2006?
Avalon’s “You Were There” (not sure it was released in ‘06, but that’s when I first heard it)
Who’s your favorite musician/band?
There are so many, and from so many different genres, but I’d have to say it would be Selah, Five Cent Stand, Marcus Roberts (Jazz), Harry Connick, Jr., Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Avalon, Shaun Groves, George Strait, Wynton Marsalis…
Why do you read this blog?
I also have kids, so I love to read about things your say/do. You’re a good writer!
What other blogs do you read?
Shlog, Letters From Kamp Krusty, Five Cent Stand, The Cachinnator, mommy blogs
