I must have been about 7 or 8 and at my grandparent’s house. My grandpa gave me his techie genes. He always had the latest and best gadgets. I remember playing a video game in all it’s green and black glory on his RadioShack TRS-80
I remember floppy disks that were actually floppy and phone modems that you actually stuck the phone in…

Totally rocked the “trash 80!” I remember spending days typing in a Basic program from a magazine so I could play pong with my sister.

Commodore 64. I even had the modem where you hung the phone on it to get online. Retro goodness!

First computer memory? Well, my brother had an Atari (2600), but if your talking like Apple computers (yep...nice little rainbow apple on it), it was 1987, 2nd grade. It was exciting because you got to play Reader Rabbit. And never, NEVER, put those floppy disks (when they were actually floppy) on top of the disk drive for fear of erasing the whole disk!
Ahh...thanks for the memories.

Commodore 64 also! I think we used them in school in first grade, but the first significant use would’ve been around 1985, when I took a BASIC programming class at our school district’s summer enrichment program. Learning to draw boats with color blocks (and, later, to make them move!) was the apogee of my programming skills.

Mine first computer memory is from 3rd grade (1983 I think) Playing Oregon Trail. We all got so pumped when it was Oregon Trail day.

we had computers around as far back as I can remember. my dad had this Sharp laptop that had a printer attached to it. I used to play DOS games. Walk north. Grab sword. etc. it was pretty cool. i bought my first laptop in 2003, a toshiba satellite which is now too slow, i don’t even touch it. my next computer will be a mac if it kills me....i mean. i would really like a mac. Just gotta save up for it.

I’m not really sure, but the first thing that comes to mind is elementary school computer lab. This was probably late ‘90s, so obviously pretty far behind the curve. I think we had one in my house before then, but my memories of it all are awfully hazy!
I was also going to say the same thing Amy said...I think I sent an “introduce myself” e-mail a really long time ago...it might need to be updated! I don’t know if you were planning on using it or not, but just fyi.

My first computer was an IBM.
