Dave Barnes JackPot: Guitar tabs

My guitar playing, such as it is, has lately been limited to countless rounds of “Jesus Loves Me” and “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands” but a recent discovery may actually coax me to leave the cozy confines of G, C and D.

While perusing Dave Barnes web site, I noticed that he has Tabs for almost all of the songs on his first two cds. How cool is that?

So now, I’m off to hack my way through a rendition of “On A Night Like This” that could literally make grown men cry.

Anyone know of any other places I can find great music to butcher (meaning any other artists who post guitar tabs of their music)?

My son plays guitar and he uses this site:
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/

Warning:  It has ALL kinds of music (and language), so I only let him use this site if I’m on the computer with him.

I had no idea you played guitar.  I can send you a couple books full of music to butcher.  None of the tabs are right, mind you, but it’s free so…

Cristy,
Thanks for the link...I’ll have to check it out!

Shaun,
When I say I “play the guitar” I use that phrase loosely. I entertain my preschool daughters and occasionally lead worship for our small group, but it’s not particularly pretty. I’d say I’m at a functional level of guitar playing.

I’d love those books, though. I really want to play the guitar more over the next couple months. I played a lot when I was pregnant with my first daughter and after she was born, it was almost magical how quickly my guitar playing (such as it is) soothed her when she was upset.
