Clothing Purgatory

I’m in that phase of pregnancy, when most of my old clothes don’t fit and many of my “maternity” clothes have a fit (like relaxed fit, slim fit etc) that should be labeled “pup tent fit.” They fit snuggly in the shoulders and then proceed to flare outward like the pyramids of Egypt thus causing me to resemble the Liberty Bell or one of those triangular stick figures that we drew as children. (If I were as creative with my hashmarks as Curtis, I’d insert a nifty little diagram here.)
So I find myself in clothing purgatory. I either wear clothes that are hopelessly too small or clothes that I could use to shelter my family in the event of a sudden winter storm.

Boo for clothing pergatory. I remember that stage of pregnancy. Even worse is the last month, when your maternity clothes won’t fit anymore - I spent the last three weeks pulling my shirt down and my pants up every time I moved. Boo for clothes in general during pregnancy.

Stephanie,
Unfortunately, I’m already in the shirt/down, pants/up stage...and I have a few more months to go. The other bummer is that most of my maternity clothes are from my first pregnancy....almost 5 years ago…
What I do love about this stage of pregnancy, though, is feeling my little baby boy move around. Weird...but cool.

Oh boo hoo. If you were a normal-sized human instead of uber-fitness girl who doesn’t put on any weight anywhere except where there’s an extra person in her, the clothes would fit fine. Instead, you’re like the healthiest trimmest pregnant person on earth. Go eat a Twinkie, for the love of cake!

Somewhere in there, there’s a compliment lurking. Um, thanks Cach. I’m off to find a Twinkie.

Although, in all honesty, I haven’t had a decent workout in 5 months…
Perhaps I’ll eat my Twinkie while sitting on the recumbant bike that’s collecting dust in my garage…
