Allergic to January

Apparently, I’m allergic to the month of January. I don’t think it’s the New Year’s Resolutions. I’m guessing it’s the mold. At least that’s what the newspaper says.
I’ve never really been allergic to anything before but last January I was sneezing just like I have been lately. Not fun. It’s especially not fun because, being pregnant, I can’t take anything for it.
So, for now, I’ll carry a Kleenex box and trash bag around with me and say things like “Do you want some bilk?” “Will you check the bailbox?” and “We’re having beatloaf for supper.”

Fortunately, this only seems to affect me for a few weeks in early January. I really do feel bad for people who deal with allergies on a more regular basis. It’s phenomenally annoying.
My daughter actually gets allergy shots, but not for normal allergies. About two years ago (when she was 2) we had to rush her to the hospital because she had and anaphylactic reaction to an ant bite. She looked a lot like Shrek for almost a day.
Apparently, she had the highest possible allergy to ants and we needed to carry an epipen with us EVERYWHERE we went. It was pretty scary. We even thought about moving to Alaska (where they don’t have fire ants - supposedly)…
Fortunately, though she’s gone through treatment where she gets shots regularly and she’s since been bitten by an ant and didn’t have a reaction at all. I love modern medicine…
Are your allergies year round?
