A Day In The Life Of A Stay At Home Mom…

Here’s what I’ve done today:
1. 2 loads of laundry (clean, but still crumpled in a pile on the living room floor).
2. 2 loads of dishes (apparently my family needs a new dish for each bite of food.)
3. 1 trip to the grocery store (with 2 children (4 and 2) pushing their “babies” in their strollers.)
4. Started an account at Shoutlife.com. (a clean, very active, fast and less ugly version of myspace...I’m addicted. Thanks Ryan.)
5. Started a Music Marketing and Promotion Group at Shoutlife.com. (It’s been active about 5 hours and there are already 15 members).
6. Accepted about 43 friend requests from the very friendly folks at ShoutLife.com
7. Scored an interview with Andrew Osenga (of Caedmon’s Call) for my music blog. (Be looking for it in the coming weeks. If you have any questions you’d like me to ask, email me.)
8. Scored an interview with Tammy Trent for my music blog. (Again, be on the lookout. Ditto on the interview questions.)
9. Got schooled in CandyLand by my 4 year old...3 games in a row.
10. Cooked dinner for some friends who just had a baby.
Whew! It’s been a crazy but fun day! Oh, and did I mention that I did all this while wearing a tiara and blanket royal robe because my 2 year old insisted I dress up like a princess with her?
I love my life…

Michelle,
The funny thing is that all day yesterday I thought it was Wednesday....ah the calendar issues of a stay at home mom.
Ryan,
Thanks for the add and for letting me know about shoutlife in the first place. I’ve just added you to the group, so I’m counting on you to help get discussions started etc.

A few days ago, I had a blanket, er, cape tucked in at the nape of my neck and I was “SuperBear” to Lil’ E’s “Brown Bear” (also caped). All kinds of fun - at least I didn’t have to wear a tiara.
Interviews with Osenga and Tammy Trent - nice. I’ll be looking out for them.

I’m still trying to picture the “looks” you got at the grocery store in your tiara and royal robe!

Sounds like a great day to me. (not that I would be waltzing around grocery stores in a tiara, but, you know what I mean!).
I have recently had to go back to the 70 hour workweek to finish up some important projects, and boy how I long to be able to take part in the costume and teddy bear parades, trips to the grocery store, etc. In due time, Lord willing!

I hate to disappoint, but I didn’t actually wear the tiara or robe to the grocery store. I did drive with the tiara, though…

Slacker. You should try doing something.

It’s days like these that make us wonder what we did before we had kids, huh?! I get a bit sad when I think about the time when mine won’t want to play pretend anymore. But then there will be plenty of other new and exciting things to do with them. They grow so fast!!

Susanne,
So true! I certainly wasted a lot of time before I had kids. I had no idea what it meant to be busy....even though I often thought I was very busy.
In the midst of these crazy days, though, I certainly try to remember how precious this beautiful chaos is. They DO grow up so fast.
