A Perfect Evening

Seriously, this evening couldn’t have gone more perfectly.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Jimmy and I are on a little getaway in Austin. We got some tips on using priceline from a friend a got an incredible room at the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

When we arrived, there were hundreds of people standing on a bridge near our hotel. It turns out that’s were all the bats fly out every evening. We went down to see it and it was really cool - in a revolting sort of way. There were thousands and thousands of bats flying within freak out range of my head.

People were there with their families, sitting on blankets and taking pictures.

As soon as the bats were gone an amazing 25 minute fireworks show began. Jimmy and I sat down, right by the river on a gorgeous summer Texas evening and enjoyed the show.

Now we’re back at our hotel. We have a gorgeous view of Austin and we look forward to NOT waking up at 6:30am.

I have stayed at that hotel, very nice, and walking distance from lots of good eating places.

Katz deli has lots of good food, one of my favs in Austin.

Priceline is awesome!  We got our hotel in St. Louis for an amazing price b/c of Priceline.

Have a wonderful time - you deserve it!! Hotel looks like Emabassy Suites!?!? They are the greatest!! Let the beard grow Jimmy -looks GREAT!
