Aaaaand…She Finished The Bible

My daughter is 7 and she just finished reading the Bible.

The whole thing. Cover to cover.

Please don’t call me Supermom. I promise I had NOTHING to do with it. Considering that (deep dark confession) I’ve never read the whole Bible. Sad, but true. I’m working on it.

She got a Bible for her birthday awhile back (thank you Kellye) and started reading it ALL. THE. TIME.

Apparently, her love of the Bible started early. I found this picture today. She couldn’t have been more than 3 and certainly couldn’t read yet. Besides, if you look closely, you’ll see that it’s actually upside down. Ha! If I remember correctly, she laid there staring and flipping through the pages for a good 20 minutes!

It’s an incredible thing to be challenged and inspired by your own children.

Have you read the Bible cover to cover? Do you plan to?

Good for her! What an inspiration to everyone. I have read the Bible through once after graduating college, but only as a thing to check off my checklist. I feel like I could have gotten more out of it.

Wow…inspired and feeling more than a little guilty that I haven’t done the same thing myself.

That is so amazing!  I have never read through the whole bible before.

She must have a heart for Gods Word, that is so awesome.

That is wonderful!!  Just think how many times she’ll be able to read it through again in her lifetime.

Awesome, awesome, awesome!

I’ve read through the Bible several times–not sure how old I was the first time.

So proud of your little one!!

John and I and mom just signed up for a bible reading plan where they will send it to us on line and you read it through in one year.  Yea….

do you know that it takes 15 mins a day to read two pages of your bible and then you will be done with the entire thing!  15 min a day!

Diana,

What site did you use? I’m doing the same thing and it’s been REALLY helpful for me to stick with it because I always have my phone with me, so I can read anytime.

At one point, I thought I had read the entire Bible.  Then I learned about the Deuterocanonicals, and realized I still had a few more to go.

Wow! What an amazing precious daughter you have there!!!!  Have you asked the questions that spring to my mind?  What was her favourite bit?  Which person did she like the best, etc.?  I would love to know her thoughts, as she is only 7, and hasn’t been “indoctrinated” yet, and for general interest.  I think that this is sooooo great.  Also love the pics!  Blessings, Auzzie chick
