Today Might Be The BEST Day of My Life

It could. Really.

I love to meet the day before sunrise (or kid-rise or husband-rise). In the early morning, I feel as though I have a truly blank canvas. I see the day laid out before me in all it’s vastness – full of possibility.

I can choose what I’ll paint, assemble the colors and sketch the outline. All before anyone adds their brushstrokes, scribbles or pudgy handprints.

Today could be the best day of my entire life.

Today I could make memories with my kids that they’ll laugh and talk about for 50 years.

Today could be the day my patience overtakes my impatience – for good.

Today could be the day my love for God overcomes my fear of man – finally.

Today could be a day God uses me to change someone’s life – forever.

At 5am the day is unknown and exciting. And with all the possibility, how could I do anything but sit with my Father and ask what He’d have me do with this amazing gift?

The more I listen to Him in the quietness of the dawn, the more I’ll recognize His voice in the chaos of the day.

So here I am, Lord. I’m listening. Today.

Hi Kat -

I’m really looking forward to the day that:

“Today could be the day my love for God overcomes my fear of man – finally.”

I don’t do well when I have to confront someone who I know will turn into a puffer fish when I do.  So I don’t confront. I do the quietly steam thing.  I get myself in so much trouble because of this.  I really need to get over the fear of man (like, by tomorrow).

I’ve been avoiding your posts lauding early morning visits with God, because everytime I’ve tried to get up before 7:00am, I get nauseous. Not a morning person.  But I’m beginning to get the idea that I need to become one!

Beautifully said Kat!

“The more I listen to Him in the quietness of the dawn, the more I’ll recognize His voice in the chaos of the day.”
