Ready To Run

Update: I’ve finished. I’m not sure of my final time (can you believe I forgot to start my watch at the beginning of the race?!) It was definitely slower than last year, probably about 2:10.
It was super windy (25mph gusts) and I had some cramping issues, but I didn’t stop or walk, so I’m still pleased with my time. And God taught me some good stuff that I’m looking forward to sharing with you! I REALLY appreciate everyone’s encouragement here and on Twitter and Facebook. Thanks!
Today is the day.
In an hour and 50 minutes I’ll start the Bearathon. Whew.
Yesterday the kids and I drove the course and during miles 5-9 my son was in the backseat saying, “Big hiws Mama! Big hiws!” (That’s “big hills” in two-year-old-speak.)
There are indeed big hills. My goal is to finish without walking. That will be really hard during the hilly part of the course, but I’m really looking forward to the challenge.
It’s weird to think that by 10:30 am I’ll be done and then I’ll start getting ready for my son’s party this afternoon. I feel like I have this HUGE thing in front of me. Last night I had a hard time sleeping and I even dreamed I missed the start time!
It’s kind of fun to be nervous and excited about something, though.
I look forward to updating you in a few hours!
What was the last challenge you faced?

HMMM…. the last challenge I faced was leaving The Small People as well as their sweet parents yesterday to continue my journey south. I got to see girls ride with no training wheels and a boy and his bat hit the ball over and over and over and……….all the giggles and hugs……I could have stayed there all day. Hopefully soon we can spend more time together. That was my last challenge…..compared to that a marathon run is nothing!
