A Little Man and Two Card Sharks and A Blog Friend
The Little Man
There’s nothing cuter than a sleeping baby. (Especially mine…ahem)
This is actually how my 1 year old sleeps. When I put him to bed, he’ll play with his stuffed animals for a minute, then put his hand behind his head, take a deep breath and close his eyes.
As if he’d just finished a long day at the office.
Card Sharks
In other news, my girls and I sat around the table and played a real card game for the first time yesterday! We played Crazy 8’s. It was really fun to do something so grownup with them.
Of course, they destroyed me. We played two games and I won neither…
Blog Friends
Also this weekend, the girls and I had lunch with none other than Annie Downs. She was in town for a conference so we got to meet her and have lunch. She’s SO fun. The girls and I absolutely adore her. Thanks Annie!
Your Turn
So tell us, was your weekend boring or fun?
What did you do this weekend?

I will just say, our weekend was interesting. On one hand it was wonderful (my nieces both got baptized last night after accepting Christ at different points during the year), on the other, we discovered why you don’t mix Autism and a birthday party at a bowling alley. Yeah, that was… well…. it was interesting and something we won’t repeat for a long, long time.

We had a fun weekend–we finished it up with a trip to Dallas to buy a furniture set we found on craigslist. That was definitely the highlight.
Oh, and I LOVE sleeping baby pictures too. I’m always taking them of my kids. And my husband is always asking WHY I’m taking pictures of my sleeping babies. He just doesn’t get it.
Yours is adorable, btw. The hands behind his head absolutely crack me up!

Same, same, same, here.
Nothing exciting. I read other blogs to see what fun other people had.
Take care,

Kari,
Oh I’m so sorry about the birthday party. I hope your week improves dramatically. You’re an amazing and faithful and hard working mom.
Lisa,
Congrats on your new furniture. How fun!
Amy,
I’ll try to have a particularly exciting week – just for you.
Diana,
Isn’t it fun?!

The smallest person’s sleeping position is hilarious, and so cute! Does his dad sleep that way, or is it just natural?
I had a really nice, quiet weekend, a good mix of hanging out with friends, getting stuff done at home, doing a little outlet mall sales shopping for this professional wardrobe I’m apparently supposed to have next year, a good run, and church. Glad y’all had fun, too!

Cute pix all around.
My weekend… I sold something on Craigslist, so I’m up $30. I am also rockin’ the new DDR game. So, yeah… I can’t complain.

I had a great weekend. Hung out with my wifey and son, then stayed up until 1:30am working on a screenplay that I’m helping a friend write. Then cleaned house and watched the SAG Awards.

Your kids are adorable!
I went to a matinee with my daughter and saw Marley and Me. We cried. Then she rented The Express – The Ernie Davis Story for after dinner and we cried again. After cry #2, I told her that we just can’t do 2 cry movies in one day again!

Texas in Africa,
It just comes naturally. He’s kind of a hilarious little guy.
Sarah,
$30 – nice!
Travis,
Screenplay? Cool! I’m looking forward to watching some award show and being able to say “I knew him when…”
Diane,

Ha! Yeah, I can’t handle cry movies. I prefer to watch them in solitude…nothing worse than blubbering at the theater.

I live in Mexico… but I was standing in a wedding in Nebraska. So on Thursday I drove to the border, on Friday I flew to Nebraska, on Saturday I had the wedding, and on Sunday I both flew back to Texas and back into Mexico. I totaled 7 hours of sleep over the weekend, and started teaching again on Monday.

I spent Saturday in my kitchen organizing, baking, and doing general food prep. I absolutely loved it. Sometimes, just being home is best.
