The Mystery Cart…

Photo_120808_005

As I was shopping at HEB (our grocery store) the other day, this was following behind me.

It was really funny to watch people’s faces before and after they realized my 6 year old was pushing the cart.

Your Turn

What’s the name of your grocery store?

Bonus question: How often do you visit the store?

(Sadly, I used to go so much that the checker people know me by name and I’ve even been invited to their birthday parties, baby showers and weddings! Here’s how I got organized.)

Our grocery store is Meijer.

I visit probably 2 to 3 times a week. Way too much, I’m trying to be more organized and take one big trip rather than so many little ones.

That’s too cute about your cart being pushed by itself. rasberry We have a little toddler sized cart for my 3 year old. He LOVES to push that around the store and help mommy. But boy do I get a lot of looks and stopped a lot. People think it is adorable. smile

I go to Walmart for my groceries.  I tried to resist, but man… that one stop shop thing finally got me.

I go once a week, and I refuse to go more than that.  If we run out of something, tough.  wink

We have only two choices:  Brookshire’s (pronounced BrookshER’s–very embarrassing when you say it wrong and proclaim yourself a ‘yankee’) and Walmart.  I visit Walmart weekly for the majority of my groceries and then hit Brookshire’s when I’ve forgotten something.

I love that picture–it’s so cute how you can see the small person peeking through the back of the basket!

I’m trying to go once a week- inspired by you….

This week is my first try.  I went one big trip, but have already been back for bananas and creamer.

Before moving to the great state of Texas I ONLY went to Publix.  There isn’t much to choose from in my area…so like you I go to HEB once or twice a week.

I will get a few things at Walmart if I venture over that way.

I’m an HEB girl, twice a week or so.  On occasion, I also stop by Whole Foods for obscure ingredients.

I’m from MS and have never visted a HEB. Can you believe that?!?  I’ve heard people talk about it like I’m really missing something.  Am I?

However, I find my weekly necessities at either Wal-Mart or Piggly Wiggly.  I don’t mind buying my canned foods and toiletries at Wal-Mart, but I’m kind of picky about my meat so I go with Piggly Wiggly for that.

Deanna,

I would LOVE to shop at a place called Piggly Wiggly. Just typing that makes me smile. I think that’s going to be stuck in my head for a few days…piggly wiggly…piggly wiggly…

I shop at what I’ve been told is called “The Taj maHEB.”

I just discovered the bulk food section…. oh dear.. trouble. I think I have 6 kinds of flour now. smile I’m probably there once every two weeks, but it’s just me in my family, so I go through much less food. smile

I shop Costco for most of my groceries once every 2 weeks & Safeway for the in between stops mostly for milk every 3 or 4 days as we go through 8 gallons a week.

Fresh food I buy at Tom Thumb, other stuff at Super Target. I only go to Target once a week (usually) but I may go to Tom Thumb three or four times a week…I like fresher food.

Dpends on what I am looing for. Whole Foods Market or the local natural food store for my incredible 3 1/2 year old son and his dietary needs for his Autism. The natural food store for my almost 1 year old son’s almond milk because he’s allergic to soy, cow’s milk, and oat milk. Walmart for all the regular stuff that us boring parents that can tolerate anything eat.
