I Feel So Validated (and What Was YOUR Favorite Album of the Year)
If you’ve been reading this blog for long, you can probably guess what my favorite album of the year was.
Ever since I first heard it 12 months ago, I’ve been talking and blogging about the album and the artist non-stop. I recruited my mom friends to join me on a road trip for a standing room only club concert.
My blog friends even comment on how much I talk about it.
And now I feel less goofy for gushing so much. Christianity Today just selected this album as the #1 album of the year. (Thanks Erin for the news.)
Check out my Music Monday post at the Bloggable Music Network to find out who the artist is and to get a FREE song from the album.

I can’t pick just one, so I will list my top five:
1. Andrew Peterson Resurrection Letters vol.2
2. Coldplay Vida La Vida
3. Brooke Fraser Albertine
4. JJ Heller Painted Red
5. Sara Groves O Holy Night
2008 was a very good music year for me.

Like you, I love Brooke Fraser. I too was excited to see it hit the top of the CT list.
It’s funny, when I bought my car this year it was the first thing I really listened to extensively—so when I get in my car I think of that CD. Not bad, right?

Well, what can I say: your passion shows.
I don’t know what I’d put at the top this year. Several good albums out. I agree with a lot of Christianity Today’s list – even though I’ve only heard a total of three songs from albums among those twelve on KSBJ here in Houston. But that’s another conversation with Becky . . .
Among my favorites for the year would be Albertine, as well as Cindy Morgan’s Beautiful Bird, Phil Wickham’s Singalong (love the intimate feel of the album), and Laura Story’s Great God Who Saves (one of the very few “worship” albums I would recommend).
