And Then I Discovered My Daughter Was a Pirate

Last week it got cold here in Texas.

75 degrees. Brrr….

While we were driving to school, my 4 year old daughter said, “I wike it when it gets cowd.”

“Why is that dear?” I replied.

“Because now I can say (at this point she began to scowl and raise her fist in triumph), ‘SHIVER ME TIMBEWS!!!”

Ok. THAT came out of nowhere….

Oh, Kat!  If you only knew how this post made my life!  I’ve always wanted to be a pirate!  Maybe your little girl could be my first mate.  Ya think?

(The Ballad of the Pirate Queens by Jane Yolen is a fun children’s book to read.  At least it was for me.  The little one might need a few more years, but YOU could enjoy it now.  Oh, heavens.  I’m SUCH a teacher.  **sigh**)

Hahaha, that’s too cute!

Did she say that on Friday?  Because if she did, she would have fit right in with National Talk Like a Pirate Day!  (Who comes up with these days?)

Emily,

When you give up teaching in the far reaching corners of the world to be a pirate, you may enlist The Smaller Person to be your first mate. grin

I’ll have to make note of that book. Thanks!

Erin,

Actually, she said it on Thursday. She’s always been advanced like that.

Just Matt,

I thought so too.

Clearly she was ahead of the curve on Talk Like a Pirate Day.  And she’s much cuter than the UT students who showed up dressed like pirates last week…
