Music Monday: Great Love Songs
In honor of my upcoming 10th wedding anniversary, today’s theme is: Great Love Songs.
My Serious Entry
Dave Barnes: The Wedding Medley
I couldn’t pick just one Dave Barnes song, so fortunately he sings a medley of my three favorites.
My Cheesy Entry
Stryper: Honestly
Nothing screams 1980’s Christian kid pseudo rebellion like the yellow and black attack. This is the cheesy, big hair, spandex power ballad at it’s finest.
Anyone else listen to Stryper in the 80’s? I even went to a concert…

You did not just pull out Stryper. Do I know Stryper? Do I know Saved Through Redemption Yeilding Peace Encouragement and Righteousness? Ummm, yes, I’ve heard of them.

We’re indecisive, so we picked 5!! Well, 2 for CM, 2 for me, and 1 for us.

Cheesy song – Three times a lady by the Commodores. That’s a smoochin’ song for sure!

Ah, Stryper! Those were the days . . .
For Mrs. E and I, the song has always been “Lady in Red” from Chris de Burgh.

It was fun posting cheesy love songs. Everyone likes a little cheese now and then. And a little lovin’. I shared a few songs by Tim McGraw and Colbie Caillat. I actually played her CD Coco quite a bit while in labor with my little Peanut. So that makes her song Bubbly extra special for my husband and me.

Oh, Stryper. Oh, oh, oh, Stryper.
I picked a Guy Clark song. It’s a Texas thing.

I don’t have an official music blog, but my favorite cheesy love song is “Always” by Atlantic Starr. My favorite serious love songs are the “Grow Old With Me” cover of the John Lennon song by Mary Chapin Carpenter tied with the “When You Say Nothing At All” cover of the Keith Whitley song by Ronan Keating (and Alison Krauss).
What’s funny is I don’t actually like country music at all but my wife does, so country love songs end up being our serious love songs.
Cool topic.
