Parent’s University: Organization

Hi and welcome to another installment of Parent’s University!

This Week’s Topic Is: ORGANIZATION

How It Works

1. Write a post on the topic of organization (i.e. meal planning, chore schedules, toy/art management, family calendar etc.).

It’s a pretty open topic – it can be a simple tip or a detailed lesson – anything other parents might find useful.

2. Then submit a link to your post* (in the comments or via email) along with the title or a one sentence description of the entry.

I will then post those links here and we will have a nice collection of ideas, tips and suggestions on keeping our families, our time and our homes organized.

*Please do send a link to that specific post and not just your blog in general so that people will still be able to easily access your entry in days and weeks to come.

We have used the job chart for a couple of decades.  Its nice for the kids to find thier part to help, and also for them to develop “do-it-without-being-told” skills.

We also had a nice system for the toys.

I built a set of shelves, then we had plastic tubs of various sizes for different types of toys.  They were labeled so the kids learned to spell words, and also had a picture on it for the younger kids that could not spell.

It really helped keep the play room tidy.

Have I told you how much I love this Parent’s University–what a great idea!  smile

I’m not participating today for two reasons:

1) I was busy, and

2) I’m not the most organized girl you’ll meet!

I’m hoping to find some great tips in the contributions today!
