Theology According To The Smaller Person

Jimmy overheard this conversation between the girls yesterday:

The Small Person:

…and if you fall in lava you die.

The Smaller Person:

When you die you go to heaven.

The Small Person:

Does everyone go to heaven?

The Smaller Person:

No, some people go to Mr. Hell’s.

Mr Hell’s – isn’t that a section at Chuck E Cheese?

I’m concerned because we have neighbor named Mr Hill.  I wonder if she thinks it’s his house.

Some would say that Chuck E Cheese’s IS Mr Hell’s.

This a funny post, but it’s even funnier after reading Jimmy’s comment!  That’s hilarious-in a not really funny kind of way!  wink

Texas in Africa,

Oh, they’re entirely fascinated with lava. We’ve watched numerous videos at the National Geographic website about volcanoes and lava. I think we even watched one about a volcano in Goma…is that right?

They’re constantly jumping on pillows in the living room trying to make it to the kitchen without falling in the lava etc. And I think they’ve done a conclusive study on the comparable heat index of lava compared with other household items – “Is lava hotter than my toothbrush? Is lava hotter than my ravioli? Is lava hotter than…?”

Kat, that is hilarious.  Yes, you probably did watch a video about the Nyiragongo volcano in Goma.  You can spend the night on the rim and look down at the lava lake, and I have a rock around here somewhere that’s from the lava that flowed through Goma.  The church I go to there is built on top of cooled lava.

Kofo,

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to comment. No, I don’t *think* Mr. Hill has seen this blog. (Ummm…Mr. Hill, if you’re reading this, we think you’re a great neighbor and a very, very nice person.)

Diana,

No, I think it was the Backyardigan’s that got them into lava. I’m actually thankful that you showed them those videos on lava. Ironically, I’d never thought of doing that. They love it!
