Hello, My Name Is…Tressa

1. What is your name or pseudonym and where do you live?

TRESSA, Central Texas

2. How did you find The Secret Life of Kat? Why do you read it?

Your my friend and you told me about it, and I think you are very crafty, your blog is very interactive, clean, and community based, and its just not all about you!

3. What do you do?

What do I not do? I support, love, play, care, administrate, jump, worship, read, serve, shop, hug, exercise, lead, color, dance, garden, cook, encourage, beautify, counsel, bike ride, give, craft, photograph, hike, pray, clean, pretend, work, cuddle, share, blog, chores, tutor, and on and on and on……

4. What is one thing you’d like to brag about….if you were a bragger?

I have a nose ring and you dont! haha!

5. Recommend: 1 book, 1 musician, 1 movie, 1 blog

Book: Money, Possessions and Eternity by Randy Alcorn,

Musician: Clannad

Blog: A new one just got up and running- http://artlady.wordpress.com/

6. What is something significant you’ve learned this year? To persevere!

(Completing mission training school, leading a lifegroup, going to India pregnant with three kids, having a 4th child, budgeting off of one income for a family of six! Having two kids in the same grade learning math! Whew! That makes me tired!) Its said in the book of James to consider it pure joy whenever we face trials of many kinds, because we know that the testing of our faith develops perseverance. And perseverance must finish its work so that we may be mature and complete, not lacking in anything.

7. What is your favorite quote or verse?

Kindness is the oil that takes the friction out of life.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22

8. Based on your life experience, what is one nugget of wisdom you’d like to share?

God is ALWAYS in control. Do not be anxious about tomorrow, today has enough worries of its own!

9. If you have a blog, what is the web address?

I’m trying to manage two- one family oriented: http://the6stricklands.blogspot.com/ and the other a Tressa blog, more for adult conversation: http://thegrouchyladybug-tressa.blogspot.com/

10. How many 5 year olds do you think you could take in a fight?

Probably 25!

1) I love Clannad.  Most people know Enya but don’t realize she’s the youngest in an extended family of musicians, with Clannad being the family band.  I also have some of Maire Brennan’s music (Enya’s older sister).

2) Persevereance is a good, but hard, thing to learn.

3) Everyone seems to have a high opinion of how many 5 year olds we could take on.

4) Howdy, Tressa.  Good day to ya.
