And The Winner Is…
I have to say it was REALLY hard to pick a winner of the Captcha Contest. There were so many funny and witty entries. I ultimately had to rely on the most fair and important criteria for selecting a winner:
Flattery
That’s right. Flattery.
Lilia wins the contest because she said I am pretty in her comment.
If you’ll recall from here, here and here pregnant and recently pregnant women don’t get many of those comments.
Hence, Lilia is the winner. Call it unfair. Call it a scandal, but it’s my blog and flattery works.
Euphrony comes in second for sheer effort. Apparently, this must be a slow time of year for rheologists.
(Lilia and Euphrony, email me at thekatjacobs AT gmail DOT com and we’ll arrange for your prizes.)

What, do I get a consolation prize? Really, I don’t need one; unless it is a major prize of Italian origin that tastefully gives light through the warm glow of fishnet stockings.
No, actually, it is not a slow year for rheologists. Quite the contrary, I’m busy as a beaver. The captcha game and much of my blogging right now is like a safety valve, a pressure release to keep my brain from exploding. Combine the need for a quick break with a serious case of OCD, and voila you have what you have.
Hope the little kiddos and the big kiddos are all doing well. We remember how long it took Mrs. E to feel normal after her c-section.

Lilia – Thank you for telling my wife what I must have told her a hundred times during the course of her pregnancy. Your prize is well deserved.
Euphrony – Good effort, and I can understand your consternation in winning the consolation prize. Like they say, the plaque for second place goes down the hall in the ladies restroom.

What,I didn’t know that there was a major award up for grabs! I have been asking for that lamp for 3 years and my wife absolutely refuses to buy that for me for Christmas. I keep thinking she’ll surprise me!
Kat- why don’t you post the winning ones so we lazy folk don’t have to dig through all the comments!

Dave,
Oh sure, make the sleep deprived, recently drugged, recovering from a hole being cut in my stomach, mother of three go back and dig through the comments…

Here’s Lilia’s entry:
Here are Euphrony’s entries:
NUMBER 1:
“Ryan, I think you’re right. If all of these are Kat/labor jokes we’ll quickly paint ouselves into a corner89 ways from Sunday. We could easily branch out and go off in a field68 different directions from the labor topic. But if you’re going to have an entry shine out in this game you’d better be one of the early78 comments and use your mind19 times more than you usually would.”
NUMBER 2:
“I’m sorry, was that overkill? Kat, you’re the judge, but wait until after your head clears today – please? By the way, are you planning on more kids? Between biological and Compassion kids, you could be a mother18 times over.”
NUMBER 3:
“It’s a good thing that everyone is being more or less polite in their sentences; otherwise, Kat, you might be expected to pay them back in kind57 times over.
d&d;Beffy, you were lucky with that selection of captcha. Very easy to get a nice bible verse from that. The rest of us have to make due with what we have:
Please open your Bible and turn to 1st Floor 8:3. I will be reading from the New Imaginative Version this morning.
“Thou shalt take the stairs and build strong hearts. Elevators are of the Enemy.”
Amen.”
NUMBER 4:
“Okay, is there anything more disgusting than a blackened, rotting umbilical cord remnant just waiting to fall off? I mean, I’d rather program a graphical-based application in Basic89 times before seeing and cleaning that again!”

I just want to thank my parents for having me and my sister for teaching me the ways of flattery. I’d like to thank Kat for providing a blog of funny, insightful and interesting topics that cause us all to think. Most of all I’d like to give all the glory to God, without whom I’d be lost.
I won!!!!!!!!!! Yippppiiiiieeeeeeee!!!!!!
